Job Description

As a key driver to the development and delivery of the Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP) process, the Master Planner will prepare advanced reporting and critical analysis providing information for business planning and management reviews. The candidate must have a strong understanding of how to provide meaningful and actionable information utilizing several different types of data. The information being presented needs to be accurate and detailed in order to facilitate an effective decision-making. Effective analysis will balance demand and supply; integrates financial and operational plans, and links high-level strategic plans with the operational plans and capabilities.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.

  • Builds and manages tools and processes that support key objectives such as demand, capacity, and supply planning, inventory modeling, service and revenue forecasting, plan optimization, and gap analysis. Develops advanced analytical tools and reporting to support the entire SIOP process
  • Coordinates and leads cross functional efforts that identify key improvement opportunities, then designs a plan of action, executes the plan, reports the results, and ensures sustainability.
  • Prepares SIOP forecast to support the monthly management business reviews retrieving inputs from Sales and Aftermarket functions, Operations, and Materials Management.
  • Creates, monitors, and maintains SIOP metrics and key performance indicators, identifying potential risks and opportunities
  • Consolidates and analyzes demand and supply information for the operational, tactical, and strategic plans, and uses data to drive on-time delivery, establish lead times, inventory turns, and maximizing revenues.
  • Work with operations to optimize production efficiencies with a focus on cycle times, batch sizes, working capital, and shift strategies.
  • Once the plan is in place helps facilitate cross-functional communication between all levels of the organization to support new product launches. This might include line extensions, promotions, discontinuations, or other actions all based upon decision-making modeling of process flow, inventory levels, costs of manufacturing, and distribution and transportation.
  • Determine target inventory and planning method policies for major products with input from business and segment leaders.
  • Support decision-making and the improvement of critical processes including Production Scheduling, Materials Planning, Manufacturing, Inventory Planning and Capacity Management.
  • Drive resolution to operational issues, while keeping cross-functional partners aware of supply and service issues by providing facts


Background & Skills

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering or Supply or a similar technical field.
  • Strong computer skills working with Microsoft Suites, Power BI and working knowledge of ERP process is a requirement.
  • Strong analytical problem resolution skills, and able to manage multiple projects at a time.
  • Strong analytical and problem resolution skills along with the ability to communicate results both verbally and in writing.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced knowledge of data analysis and business modeling
  • Intermediate understanding of Supply Chain principles including Demand Management, Operations Planning and Master Production Planning

Other Competencies:
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal working relationships with internal customers, internal/external suppliers and team members at all levels.
  • Experience working with and leading cross functional teams with remotely located team members and stakeholders.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
