Responsibilities

Prepares and paints surfaces of aircraft parts applying knowledge of surface preparation and painting techniques, using spray painting equipment, power tools, and work aids
  • Cleans, strips, sands and applies chemical solutions to prepare and condition surfaces prior to painting
  • Masks and covers surfaces not to be painted
  • Maintains a safe and audit-ready work area
  • Reads, interprets and applies shop planning, customer specifications military specifications and Quality guidelines and MSDS knowledge and location of sheets.....same as #1
  • Mixes and thins primers or paint to specified color and consistency according to standard formulas or color charts, using manual
  • Paints surfaces, applying specified amount of thickness of primer, protective, decorative, or finish coatings, such as paint, lacquer, sealer, or enamel onto prepared surfaces
  • Regulates controls on equipment to cure and dry paint or other coatings
  • Cleans spraying equipment and brushes with solvent
  • Monitors and verifies quality in accordance with industry standards
  • Monitors shelf-life items in the paint area
  • Monitors paint booth and ovens to ensure accuracy and reliability
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Thorough knowledge of:
    • Microsoft office basics
    • Military paint specifications
    • Syteline to use Item Maintenance, SRO maintenance and Incident Maintenance
    • MSDS
  • Skill to:
    • Learn industry-related software

Must be able to obtain respiratory certification and wear a face respirator

Must successfully complete Chromium Physical
