Your role at BHSN:

As a CASAC at BHSN, you will assist individuals, couples, families, and community residents in developing and maintaining the coping skills and resources necessary to reduce and/or eliminate substance-related use concerns from their lives, as they continue to work towards a substance free lifestyle and their personal recovery goals.

What your day might look like:

Provides supportive and educational individual, couples, family, and group counseling services
Documents all services in accordance with Federal and State regulations, as well as BHSN policies and procedures
Coordinates services, as necessary, with primary care providers, legal entities, psychiatrists/psychiatric nurse practitioners, mental health clinicians, and other chemical dependency treatment facilities for person-centered, holistic care that ensures people are receiving the services they need and at the level of care necessary to support them with their recovery
Develops and documents treatment plans, safety plans, and other related paperwork (e.g., screening tools; session notes; etcetera) in a timely manner
Performs alcohol and drug related oral and/or urine screenings
Supports individuals with community referrals to address their needs including, but not limited to transportation, linkage to other services, care coordination, care management, housing, and discharge planning

Your skills and qualifications:

Valid NYS Educational Department CASAC certification
Experience in or knowledge of addiction/chemical dependency field preferred
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office software
Valid NYS driver’s license, acceptable to insurance carrier, for required local travel
CPR certification required within 60 days of employment
