The Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis, the leading champion of empowerment and opportunity for African Americans and others throughout the region in securing economic self-reliance, social equality, and civil rights, is seeking a highly motivated individual with a passion for helping others to work as a Weatherization Field Tech/Retrofit Installer to support the Weatherization Department.

The Weatherization Field Tech/Retrofit Installer assists St. Louis City residents in reducing their energy usage by making homes more energy-efficient through the weatherization process.

The duties will include reducing air leaks by installing Doors/Windows, increasing insulation in the walls, attics, floor, foundation, and minimal building envelope repairs. The Weatherization Field Tech/Retrofit Installer will perform a variety of supportive functions while working with clients, client referrals, and team members in the delivery of services.

The Weatherization Field Tech/Retrofit Installer must have the ability to self-direct, work independently, and make sound decisions. Candidates must also demonstrate tact and discretion in preparing, disclosing, and handling information of a confidential and sensitive nature and the ability to remain flexible. Must demonstrate solid verbal and written communication skills, as well as respond calmly and effectively in various situations and projects.

Must possess accurate mathematical and analytical skills, solid technology skills, and organize and maintain record and filing systems; communicate clearly and distinctly with visitors and telephone callers; provide courteous information and service to the public, maintain a valid driver's license and good driving record. Technology skills is desired.

The ideal candidate will have a High School diploma/GED with training in energy conservation is required. At least three years of experience in home construction/home repair; working knowledge of construction and or home repair. BPI certification preferred.
