Business Development Manager - Preclinical Ocular - USA

Job Overview:

We are seeking a motivated Business Development Manager to drive growth in Ocular Specialty In Vivo Services. The role involves selling preclinical and bioanalytical services in ophthalmology to companies developing small molecules, ocular devices, biologics, and advanced therapies. You'll have the opportunity to collaborate with a variety of teams on a daily basis including clients, scientists, upper management, Vendors and legal; making this role a real relationship building experience.

Additional tasks:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the ocular preclinical space.
  • Generate sales to achieve individual and team targets.
  • Increase market penetration through new contact meetings, RFP activity, and proactive proposals.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Provide direction for marketing activities to generate leads and build brand awareness.
  • Collaborate with the scientific team for effective client communication.
  • Utilize CRM software for managing client interactions and tracking sales opportunities.

What We're Looking For:

We're seeking individuals who demonstrate a passion for science, business development, and delivering innovative solutions.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master's or higher degree in a relevant field (Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Ophthalmology).
  • Post qualification experience within a Life science industry or similar prior to moving into a business development role
  • 2+ years of business development/sales experience in ocular preclinical services.
  • Results-oriented with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ambitious individual passionate about the biotechnology industry.
  • Familiarity with CRM software, preferably Salesforce.
  • Strong understanding of the biotechnology industry and preclinical research.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
  • Motivated to adapt to evolving industry trends.
