Job Summary

The Maintenance Industrial Electrician is an employee who performs repairs, routine, general electrical assignments on production equipment with minimum supervision.
The Maintenance Industrial Electrician is responsible for the safe execution of service, repair and preventive maintenance of the machinery and equipment located in the Plant. That responsibility will take the form of specific duties to be performed regularly at specific times, and other duties that may be assigned from time to time. The Maintenance Industrial Electrician is responsible for reporting activities and observations with regard to the condition of the machinery and equipment to his supervisor. In addition, it is the responsibility of the Maintenance Industrial Electrician to assist in troubleshooting and repair equipment issues as needed.
 

This position requires compliance not only with company policies and procedures but also electrical regulatory codes and standards.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Follow all Safety guidelines, rules, regulations as they pertain to the day-to-day task assigned to the maintenance electrician.
  • Troubleshoot complex control systems consisting of motor controls, PLC’s, VFD’s, servos, HMI’s, instrumentation devices and communication networks.
  • Diagnose source(s) of trouble in operating equipment and perform proper repair/replacement procedures.
  • Properly perform LOTO procedures in isolating and de-energizing equipment and systems that are to be worked on, identify and eliminate or report unsafe conditions in the Plant, and perform all tasks in a safety conscious manner.
  • Assist Operator in the operation of equipment when problems arise.
  • Upgrade skills and knowledge of Plant systems, equipment, and components as directed or required.
  • Electrical aptitude and skill set as evaluated by the Maintenance Manager
  • Coordinate with the maintenance materials inventory personnel to establish acceptable stock levels of spare parts.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance inspections and as well as equipment repairs on production and facilities equipment and machinery.
  • Complete complex reports, work orders, and log time correctly for each job.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Able to speak, write, and read complex English.
  • Understand and be familiar with MSPI’s and SOP”s.
  • Ability to troubleshoot in a logical order.
  • Make simple sketches to express an idea or improvement.
  • Responsible for learning new skills, processes, and procedures as needed to maintain the facilities and equipment.
  • Coordinate with maintenance supervisors, engineers, schedulers, and others to meet production needs.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Maintain the highest ethical standards, even when challenged from above.
  • Understand and live by Armtec’s ethics and business conduct policies.

Qualifications

  • Have at least four years of proven work experience as Industrial Maintenance Electrician. Must be dependable, responsible, and have the ability to deal with people effectively.
  • Troubleshoot complex control systems consisting of motor controls, PLCs, VFDs, servos, HMIs, instrumentation devices and communication networks.
  • Diagnose source(s) of trouble in operating equipment and perform proper repair/replacement procedures.
  • Properly perform LOTO procedures in isolating and de-energizing equipment and systems that are to be worked on, identify and eliminate or report unsafe conditions in the Plant, and perform all tasks in a safety conscious manner.
  • Assist in the repair of equipment when problems arise.

Education & Professional Work Experience Requirements

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • To conform to U.S. export control regulations, applicant should be eligible for any required authorization from the U.S. Government
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 4 years of experience as Industrial Maintenance Technician as follows:
  • Electrical specification of materials used in classified areas.
  • Breaker, wire, cable and conduit sizing.
  • Interpret single line diagram and control schematics.
  • Conduit bending and layout.
  • Use of Test Equipment such as Multi-meter, Clamp Ampere Meter, Megger and Tachometer.

Work Hours

Shift: 4th Shift Friday – Sunday PM (12 hours)
