As a Sr. Tax Accountant - Income Tax, your responsibilities will include the preparation/review of federal, state, and local tax compliance for multiple entities. You will analyze and interpret tax laws and regulations that impact tax compliance, acquisitions, dispositions, and other corporate and partnership taxation matters. Additionally, you will provide tax analysis to support valuations, financings, forecasting, and various internal or external projects.

 

WHAT OUR SR. TAX ACCOUNTANT INCOME TAX ENJOY MOST

  • Actively and consistently supporting all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
  • Accumulating, analyzing, and processing financial accounting data in order to prepare tax returns.
  • Preparing/reviewing tax returns and associated work papers.
  • Researching, interpreting, and applying tax laws and regulations that impact federal and state compliance, as well as other corporate and partnership taxation matters.
  • Analyzing and evaluating the tax implications of potential investments, acquisitions, divestitures, or other transactions in alignment with the organization's objectives.
  • Coordinating and communicating with members of the tax and accounting departments.
  • Compiling executive reporting for tax purposes as required.
  • Assisting with FAS 109 calculations and conducting FIN 48 analysis.
  • Performing other duties as required.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO SPECTRUM

 

Required Qualifications

  • Business tax return preparation and review and related research experience - 3-5 years
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Ability to use personal computer and software applications (word processing, spreadsheet, etc.)
  • Superior Excel skills
  • Knowledge of tax return preparation software
  • Ability to research and resolve technical tax issues
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data
  • Knowledge of accounting theory and financial statement presentation
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to effectively perform as part of a team committed to common objectives
  • Ability to adapt to unexpected or changing conditions and help others deal effectively with new situations
  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Ability to stay focused and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree such as Masters in Accounting with concentration in Tax
  • CPA
  • Big 4 public accounting experience

 

Working Conditions

  • Hybrid Schedule- Three in-office days weekly
