Job Summary

This position coordinates and controls production activities, material flow and inventory to achieve cost and quality targets and production schedules.  Closely monitors day-to-day specific line production.

Responsibilities

  • Operations: Plans, organizes and delegates work assignments in order to best utilize man-hours, skills, and equipment.
  • Production: Anticipate production problems and devise and implement procedures to offset lost production and schedule interruptions.
  • Plant Safety: Inspects machines and equipment. Polices the use of safety equipment, departmental housekeeping and maintains a continual alert for hazardous conditions.
  • Training:   Coordinates and participates in a variety of training programs for employees.
  • Employee Safety: Proactively supervise safety, including accident investigation and follow-up, departmental inspections, employee training, and safety rule enforcement.
  • People Leadership & Management: Involved in the recruitment, training, goal-setting and performance management of production staff.
  • Demonstrates excellence in completion of all other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor degree in Business or equivalent preferred.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office skills including spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, etc.
  • Three to five (3 to 5) years’ relevant experience required supervising production staff in a manufacturing facility.

Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements

  • Sedentary work.  Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently. 
  • Regular walking and standing in a manufacturing environment.
  • Repetitive motions of the wrists, hands and/or fingers
  • Work environment on the manufacturing floor-temperatures vary substantially
  • Close visual acuity to create/read schematics, drawings and/or a computer screen.
  • Onsite work

Key Competencies

  • Must have experience supervising at least 20 employees on a shift.
  • Self- directed, flexible with a positive attitude
  • Ability to collaborate with cross functional teams
  • Possess good verbal and written communication skills
