Position Summary

This role is responsible for new product design, as well as modification, enhancements and improvements of existing products and materials in accordance with and utilizing professional engineering design principles and practices. This is an integral position within the Engineering team and shall interface and provide a technical support bridge between quality, operations, sales, and engineering.

Primary

  • Provide technical support to Sales and Operations departments.
  • Creation of quotes based on requirements provided by Customers, as well as creation of specifications for Customer signoffs.
  • Creation of detailed technical specifications for the purpose of product manufacturing.
  • Maintenance of specifications to ensure accuracy between documentation and product manufactured.
  • Creation of Purchasing specifications for raw materials used on product manufacturing.

Secondary

  • Able to lead new product development projects following established stage gate system.
  • Perform data analysis through the use of statistical software (e.g. JMP, Minitab) in order to improve quality of new cables as well as current/older versions.
  • Assist company technical staff with white papers either jointly with partners or independently; assist in catalog creation/modification as well as with official website regarding technical training, technology explanations and performance-oriented sales materials.
  • Assist quality department in creation of test procedures, testing templates, test fixtures, and equipment purchases.
  • Assist Production department and Process engineering team on technical obstacles present in day-to-day operations.
  • Work with process engineering to establish equipment process capabilities.
  • Assist lab staff with QA issues relating to signal performance and failure analysis.
  • Adhere to the core PCA goals of ISO9000 Total Quality Management.
  • Subscribe to and practice 5S, JIT, etc.

  • Immediately report unsafe conditions/behaviors and work-related injuries to site supervision.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position is not responsible for the oversight or performance management of other employees

Physical Demands

  • Must distinguish colors and pass a colorblind test
  • Finger dexterity and hand/eye coordination for operation of office equipment, including PC
  • Sitting for periods of time, working at a desk in office environment
  • Light lifting, carrying of files, supplies, ability to move, carry, lift up to 30 lbs. of objects
  • Ability to speak and hear customers, vendors, and or other employees via phone or in person
  • Requires sufficient autonomy, standing and walking to move for one office location to another

Education and Experience

  • Minimum B.S. degree in an Engineering discipline; Wire and cable experience preferred
  • Entry Level position with applicable degree
  • Relevant engineering experience within a manufacturing environment
