Job Description
- Under the guidance of the management team, plan and oversee the flow of camp delivery services and ensure that camp counselors are adhering to weekly schedules. Ensure that counselors receive necessary personal breaks throughout the camp day and that appropriate coverage is available during that break time. Deliver programs for day campers that are safe, incorporate skill progression, are age appropriate and meet the needs and interests of children with and without disabilities and ensure a safe, quality program.
- Ensure that counselors are implementing programs that meet the primary goals of maintaining a safe activity environment, helping campers make lasting friendships and challenging campers by increasing knowledge and skills. Oversee all aspects of camper services, ensuring each camper receives the support they need to be successful in the program.
- Ensure all equipment and supplies are properly used and maintained. Coordinate all camper-based services including attendance, positive behavior interventions, parent phone calls, and managing lost and found.
- Supervise, mentor and train assigned staff; assist with conducting supervision meetings, evaluate staff, and work with them on training plans. Serve as an active member of the Supervisory team, including assisting staff, attending meetings and trainings, organizing theme days, and completing staff evaluations/assessments.
- Provide crisis intervention in line with agency policies and is a amember of the summer emergency action team. Hold regular meetings with staff and be available for one-on-one check-ins.
- Report all injuries immediately and fill out appropriate forms as required. Under the guidance of the medical staff, administer medications as outlined in the camper's medication form and in accordance with agency and Maryland Board of Nursing guidelines.
- Assist with the coordination of summer orientation and ongoing in service training for camp staff.

High School or better.
