Position: Cook – Mixed Duties-04 Salary: $18.60/hour

DUTIES:

Responsible for assisting in the operations of MWR Food and Beverage businesses, to create an attractive and friendly environment, and to maintain product quality, cleanliness, and inventory. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Performs front-end duties to include welcoming customers, maintain product knowledge and assist with selection of products available. Operates Point of Sale register, collects cash, credit cards, etc., Performs tasks with several steps or sequences of tasks such as: prepare, package, and serve made-to-order beverages, snacks, and easily assembled or prepared food items. Setting up food service counters and side service stands with hot and cold food and beverages including desserts and condiments.

Assists with preparation of pizzas and daily lunch specials using a hot grill. Slices cooked meats and prepared sandwiches and wraps. Washes, peels, slices, seeds, vegetables for salads and other dishes. Prepares malts, ice cream sundaes and scoops ice cream. Uses an espresso machine to make specialty coffees/drinks.

Properly cleans all kitchen equipment, performs simple preventative maintenance associated with equipment cleaning, and maintains customer service and dining area are in a clean and appealing manner. Washes dishes, pots, pans, coffee urn. Operates mechanical dishwasher. Follows store policies and procedures for operational flow, established standards for merchandising, stocking, rotating, and storing all products, and maintains awareness pertaining to inventory waste or shrinkage. May be required to take periodic stock counts and/or participate in taking of inventories.

Performs other related duties as required or assigned that may include but not limited to maintaining strict food safety and sanitation standards, sweeps and mops floors, disposes of food wastes and trash and assists of unloading and storing of supplies. Employee is responsible for independently completing work as scheduled after initial oral or written instructions when changes or new assignments are made. Must be available to work evenings and weekends and have excellent customer service skills.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Minimum:

1. One year’s work experience in food service facility.

2. Possess math skills necessary to calculate patron bills and take inventory.

3. Possess basic food preparation and handling techniques.

4. Possess knowledge of basic sanitation principles in handling and serving food.

5. Possess the capability to lift and move objects up to 40 pounds and frequently walk, bend, stoop,

pull, push and reach.

6. Must have the ability to read and understand written material, follow instructions.

7. Must be able to obtain a Food Handlers Certificate and/or complete Food Handler’s Training within

30 days of appointment.

8. Customer service experience.

Preferred (In addition to the minimum):

1. Two years or more experience in food service or related industry.

2. Possess Food Handlers Certificate
