Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic-minded professional to join our organization as the Sr. Manager, Warehouse and Distribution. In this key leadership role, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the warehouse and distribution operations across City Brewery's multiple production facilities and distribution centers.

You will lead a team of warehouse managers and associates, collaborating closely with cross-functional departments such as packaging, quality, procurement and customer service. Your expertise in warehouse operations, distribution strategies, and continuous improvement methodologies will be instrumental in driving operational excellence and meeting customer expectations.

Duties and Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations Management

  • Manage the company’s overall shipping, receiving, cycle counting, and warehouse maintenance functions.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize warehouse layout, space utilization, and inventory management processes.
  • Oversee the implementation of safety and quality protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for all warehouse personnel.
  • Establish and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for efficient receipt, storage, and retrieval of goods across all facilities.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of warehouse managers, supervisors, and associates.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and training to enhance team members' skills, knowledge, and performance.
  • Interface with other departments and foster a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and operational excellence.

Performance Monitoring and Analysis

  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and track warehouse and distribution performance.
  • Monitor operational metrics, analyze trends, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement action plans to address performance gaps and drive operational efficiency.
  • Accountable for budget and P&L of the Warehouse Division.

Supplier and Vendor Management:

  • Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure timely receipt of goods from suppliers.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors and third-party logistics providers.
  • Monitor vendor performance, negotiate contracts, and manage service level agreements.

Continuous Improvement Initiatives

  • Identify process improvement opportunities and lead initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Implement lean methodologies, Six Sigma principles, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, encouraging warehouse and distribution teams to contribute ideas for process optimization.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university in Business/Logistics/Supply Chain/Engineering or other related field.
  • 8+ years of prior warehouse / transportation operations experience working within a large warehouse and / or transportation facility.
  • 5+ years of leadership and team management experience.
  • Experience managing sub-contracted logistics service providers.
  • Deep understanding of standard technical systems including WMS and ERP systems.
  • Experience in continuous improvement tools/methodologies to drive customer fulfillment, quality, efficiency, and safety.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Proven track record of being an effective leader in a fast-paced, high-volume organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capability of traveling between locations up to 50% of time.
  • Extensive experience as an operational leader in warehouse and distribution operations.
  • A Safety first and total quality mindset.
  • Is a detail-oriented problem solver with a proven track record of optimizing operations processes.
  • Has experience creating organizational processes and implementing them.
  • Has strong general business experience with P&L responsibility.
  • Excellent team-building and coaching skills.
  • A “roll-up” your sleeves leader mentality with the ability to collaborate, interact and communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • CPG beverage experience is a plus
