We have an amazing opportunity for an experienced CMM Inspector Operator in metals manufacturing environment. Responsible for overseeing the inspection and measurement of metal parts and products using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs). This role involves ensuring that the manufactured metal components meet the specified design standards and quality requirements.

The CMM Inspector Operator plays a crucial role in the quality control process of metals manufacturing by operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) to inspect and measure metal components for precision and compliance with design specifications.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Operate CMM machines to accurately measure and inspect metal components, ensuring precision and compliance with design specifications.
  • Set up CMM equipment, fixtures, and workpieces for measurement and inspection.
  • Develop CMM measurement programs using software such as PC-DMIS or other relevant software based on part design and engineering specifications.
  • Regularly calibrate and maintain the CMM machine to ensure accurate and reliable measurements.
  • Perform detailed inspections of metal parts and products to verify conformance with design specifications and quality standards.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret measurement data to identify non-conformities, quality issues, and deviations from design requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of measurements, inspections, and quality reports. Prepare inspection reports and related documentation.
  • Report findings and discrepancies to the quality control department and collaborate on resolution efforts.
  • Identify and address any issues with the CMM machine or measurement equipment, ensuring they function correctly.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance the quality and efficiency of metal manufacturing operations.
Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in metrology, quality control, or machining is a plus.
  • Previous experience operating CMM machines and using CMM software (e.g., PC-DMIS).
  • Proficiency in reading engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Strong attention to detail and precision in measurement and inspection.
  • Knowledge of measurement techniques and tools, including micrometers, calipers, and other inspection equipment.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and report generation.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Understanding of quality control and inspection processes in a manufacturing environment.
