SUMMARY

The role of an Automotive Sales and Leasing Associate is to sell automobiles by understanding and demonstrating characteristics, capabilities, and features; developing and qualifying buyers; and closing sales. Automotive Sales Associates are also responsible for providing customers with the truly exceptional buying experience and are expected to maintain an ongoing relationship with the customer following the sale.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and guide customer as they complete the sales process
  • Assist the customers in selecting a vehicle that meets their needs using the current inventory information
  • Enhance the sales process by demonstrating the vehicles features on the lot
  • Assist customers in the completion of necessary paperwork
  • Assist management to increase sales by inspecting the lot’s vehicles daily, reporting any problems to management
  • Assist with sourcing, auctions and trade for our pre-owned vehicle inventory
  • Assist management in ensuring the lot is merchandised correctly to maximize sales
  • Provide training and support to the sales staff and assist in closing deals
  • Direct report to the Sales Manager regarding objectives, planned activities, reviews, and analyses.
  • Practice effective Customer Relationship Management
  • Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Time management – managing one’s own time and time of others

Qualifications

  • Previous automotive sales experience is a PLUS
  • Must have a clean & valid driver’s license
  • Must be willing to submit to a drug screen prior to employment
  • Enthusiastic with high energy throughout the sales workday
  • Outgoing and friendly, especially while handling objections
  • Quality customer service skills and sales track record
  • Strong interpersonal and communications, in-person and over the phone
  • Capable of learning and using Microsoft Office, accounting software, and proprietary sales programs
