Salary:
Westaff is searching for a Maintenance Supervisor in Plaistow, NH
Direct maintenance of facility buildings, grounds and equipment .
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support all manufacturing operations.
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule including shutdowns, some holidays
and weekends if necessary. - Develop, implement and maintain a pro-active maintenance program that delivers
high levels of equipment uptime. - Initiate and maintain contact with outside vendors when trouble shooting and problem
solving. - Maintain a clean and organized shop area:
1) Equipment storage is organized.
2) Common and individual work areas are clean, organized, and all tools are
properly stored.
3) All garbage is emptied. - Maintain inventory of the necessary lubricants, cleaners and maintenance supplies.
- Ensure that all exits and loading dock surfaces are clear of debris and injury risks –
including, but not limited to inclement weather. - Identify, propose and work closely with all purchasing, engineering, technical and
manufacturing staff to initiate projects that will support the plants continuous
improvement efforts in the area of Safety, Quality and Productivity. - Ensure effective overall facility maintenance:
1) Regularly schedule plant, equipment and systems preventative maintenance.
2) Troubleshoot equipment problems.
3) Repair equipment breakdowns.
4) Rebuild equipment.
5) Plumb and maintain water systems.
6) Install, repair and maintain all systems associated with this site.
7) Perform necessary carpentry tasks.
8) Perform regular facility inspections – address needs as they arise.
9) Build, repair and replace equipment safeguards.
10) Work within budgetary constraints.
11) Maintain process water cooling system.
12) Maintain hazardous waste area. - Work with manufacturing departments to reduce equipment downtime.
- Work with Safety Committee on all safety related projects: these will include electrical
& mechanical safety, safe working practices and periodic testing programs. - Work with contractors to ensure work is completed in compliance with Company
Health and Safety requirements and other policies. - Prepare, review and implement work instructions.
- Work with Safety Committee on compliance to OSHA and other regulatory
requirements. - Ensure the appropriate tools/equipment and PPE are available to direct temporary
labor, contractors and other department employees enabling ef f icient and safe
completion of tasks. - Support a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.
- Any other functions and any other tasks that may be assigned .
- Responsibility for Work of Others:
• Supervision of Maintenance Department technician(s) and shut down crews.
• Supervise and direct temporary labor, contractors and other department employees
on maintenance related tasks as required.
Qualifications for Maintenance Supervisor:
• High school diploma or equivalent desired.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of work experience in a manufacturing maintenance position
with a proven track record is preferred
• Above average English communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong awareness of maintenance, safety and quality principals (predictive
maintenance, Lean manufacturing, etc.)
• Strong leadership, organizational and problem-solving skills
• Computer literate, able to ef fectively use MS Of f ice (Word, Excel, Project) sof tware.
• Familiarity with ISO9000 quality systems a plus.
Physical Demands
• This is a hands-on position, must be able to support site with troubleshooting,
maintenance and repair tasks
• Computer work at desk
• Required to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
