Position Summary
This is a non-exempt, full-time position that requires excellent customer service skills and an ability to work well with a team. The Assistant Deposit Operations Leader will have some supervisory duties including scheduling, ordering cash, performance reviews, training tellers, and overrides. This person must work with the Deposit Operations Leader to motivate employees, nurture skills, develop talent and inspire the Team to achieve the Bank's strategic goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Must be proficient and able to perform all essential duties and responsibilities of the Banking Specialist III. In addition, this position will:

  • Provide quality customer service promptly and courteously at all times.
  • Accurately meet policy requirements for teller drawer balancing.
  • Supervise, coach, motivate and train front line staff in compliance with Bank policies.
  • Oversees teller activities in compliance with Bank policies.
  • Prepare outgoing cash shipment(s) and verify incoming shipments, input branch orders and shipments, and foreign currency orders.
  • Secondary contact on GJ Deposit Operations timecard approvals and PTO requests.
  • Ensure department has adequate coverage to ensure efficient functioning at all times by preparing and maintaining the work/lunch schedule and rotation.
  • Assist tellers in locating cash discrepancies; help with daily balancing, provide overrides, review and sign off on large items, branch capture corrections and manage unusual transactions.
  • Process teller transactions accurately and efficiently and meet the required standards established for cash handling and cash disbursement.
  • Review and decision branch NSF and Stop Payment reports daily.
  • Monitor and review Stop Payments.
  • Monitor weekly ATM usage and maintenance.
  • Monitor weekly cash recycler usage and maintenance.
  • Locate, utilize, create, and update Internal Controls as needed.
  • Assistant Operations Leader must ensure all tellers and vault have been balanced prior to leaving for the day.
  • Assist in problem resolution for tellers and customers and resolve difficult situations with tact and diplomacy.
  • Under the direction of the Deposit Operations Leader, motivate and encourage the team to meet their business development goals.
  • Under the direction of the Deposit Operations Leader, assist with Global Deposit Operations duties including but not limited to:
    • Construction Draws
    • Inactive/Dormant Account reports and maintenance
    • Monthly COLTAF Remittance
    • Minor Account monitoring and maintenance
    • Other global duties may be assigned as needed
  • Branch monitoring activities, such as review of daily reports, to ensure duties and responsibilities assigned to team members are carried out in compliance with regulations and Bank policies.
  • Ability to perform duties independently with limited direct supervision.
  • Perform or oversee Branch monitoring audits, including surprise cash audits, according to the scheduled timeframes.
  • Ensure employees are adequately trained and cross-trained to effectively perform job duties.
    • Teller training may include counting currency, running transactions, customer service, program training, branch capture training, buying/selling from vault, balancing/maintaining a cash drawer, utilizing and balancing cash recycler, balancing and replenishment of ATM, phone etiquette, open/close duties, shipment preparation, night drop, vault balancing, coin machine and business development.
  • Perform research on fraudulent debit card transactions as well as placing debit card travel exceptions.
  • Accurately complete debit card limit increases and decreases, placing Holds and Stop Payments, and more.
  • Researching and completing disputes for fraudulent and unauthorized debit card transactions.
  • Assist consumer and business customers with domestic and international wires, familiarity with wire procedures, fees, and customer inquiries, working with the Wire Team as needed to resolve issues.
  • Strong professional integrity in compliance with company policy, and ethical and legal standards.
  • Ability to practice digression and handle confidential information in a professional manner.
  • Acquire and maintain thorough understanding of security procedures.
  • Required to attend and actively participate in all Deposit Operations, Risk Management, and other trainings.
  • Ability to meet goals for rocks as assigned by Deposit Operations Leader.
  • Extensive knowledge of Bank policies and procedures.
  • Duties may be expanded on as experience and professional goals are achieved.

Required Knowledge and Expertise

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Some banking experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of banking services and products to offer solutions to meet our customers' needs.
  • Proven people, communication, prioritization, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrate initiative and strong motivation for success.
  • Team player with a strong, team-focused attitude.
  • Maintain a current knowledge of all regulations, including BSA, along with demonstrating a knowledge and understanding of the Bank's policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work on a computer/stand/sit for extended periods of time, ability to move to various locations promptly.
  • Ability to lift coin boxes (approx. 50 lbs.).

**Pursuant to the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and Equal Pay Transparency Rules, the salary range above represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Incentives based on Timberline Team goals may also be offered.
