Job Description – Welder

Summary / Objective

Marquis Industrial Services is currently recruiting for Stick and Heliarc Welders) with experience in the oil and gas industry.

Essential Functions

• Adheres to all OSHA, site specific and Marquis Industrial Services safety requirements
• Participate in safety pre-job audits (JSA’s) with the work crew to ensure all safety hazards have been identified
• Experience working with carbon steel and stainless-steel piping and supports
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and ISO drawings
• Accuracy in reading a tape measure, caliper, or other tools of measure to ensure appropriate cutting of the metal
• Laying out, cutting, fitting, measuring, and welding to create the desired shape or object as defined by ISO drawings
• Any other duties as assigned by supervision.

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to read ISO drawings
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole number, common fractions
• Apply common sense to understand and carryout instructions
• Ability to read a tape measure to accurately taking measurements

• Working around moving mechanical parts
• Working in high precarious places
• Exposed to all types of weather conditions – hot /humid/cold/wet
• Working around different types of chemicals
• Working in high noise areas

• Stand for long periods of time
• Ability to feel and reach with hands and arms
• Ability to stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear and taste and smell.
• The employee must regularly lift and/or move 50 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• Must have the ability to take direction, comprehend instructions and work well with others
• Must be able to follow both verbal and written instructions

Qualifications

• High School Degree or equivalent
• Ability to pass Hair Follicle Testing
• Acceptable Background
• TWIC Card
• Successfully complete Formosa Safety Training
• At least two (2) years of previous welding experience.
• Must be willing to work overtime
• Required to wear PPE on job site at all times.
