How will you have an impact in this role?

The Hub Superintendent’s primary role is to support the operations of the hub locations in achieving the safety, employee engagement, preventative maintenance, financial performance, inventory quality and count and overall customer experience at Landus facilities. This position will be a champion of a sales and growth culture with all of the employees in the business unit.

What will you do?

  • Perform in the following duties in grain operations:
    • Learn how to look up grain inquiries, settlements and the basic knowledge of selling grain.
    • Understand grain flow within facility and where everything is located. Bins, equipment, rolling stock, etc.
    • Collaborate with grain merchandising to manage inventories, quality, damage, etc. to maximize returns
    • Learn and understand grain weighing and grading procedures.
    • Maintain grain quality and quantity meet the expectations of Landus
    • Responsible for the timely loading of trains
  • Direct assigned area inventory control of agronomy products and/or grain to limit shrink, non-billed products and services, theft, damage, aging, and deterioration
  • Ensure personnel and physical assets meet company safety, environmental, health, regulatory, maintenance, quality and customer standards – champion of safety compliance throughout the organization
  • Practice QMS Policies and Procedures for the facility
  • Weighing – QMS Procedures, Weighing Procedure, AS 400 Truck Scale Interface; Data Management – Creating Delivery Numbers
  • Maintain housekeeping of all grain, agronomy, shop and office facilities and follow the QMS procedures
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Must have a Class A CDL with applicable endorsements or be able to obtain one, if applicable to the location.
  • Participate in company DOT drug and alcohol program and maintain current DOT physical.
  • Must have or be able to obtain grain grading and weighing, pesticide applicators, and handler’s license, if applicable to the location.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university.
  • Four to seven years of related experience.

Other Skills that will help you succeed:

  • Good computer skills.
  • Understand the seasonality of an agricultural cooperative and the in-season time commitment.
