Job Description:

Sr Manager, Program Management is responsible for overarching management of a program(s)/project(s) with cross functional dependencies and program performance/health. Sr Program Managers have three core proficiencies:

1. Strategic Partners: Lead US program(s)/project(s) and handle critical path for non-tech led program(s)/project(s)

  • Partner with the US Tech governance and intake team to coordinate early-stage projects prior to project manager assignment
  • Proactively find opportunities, risks, and interdependencies to solution cross-functionally

2. Connectors across US Tech and the system: Ensure all program(s)/project(s) are run in a uniform way, becoming ‘COE’ across US Tech

  • Liaise with Product / Deployment Teams and effectively manage collaborators and capacity of PMO team across all programs / projects in the pipeline

3. Outcome-oriented: Deliver high quality day-today project management. support to enable execution of US Tech projects, embedding in project teams while following standardized standard methodologies

  • Own standardized program/project tracking and reporting system to provide transparency into status of in-flight projects for US and Global
  • Communicate key updates to the Portfolio and Strategic Alignment teams within Ops Excellence to supervise program health/progress and craft US Tech narrative

Core responsibilities:

  • Identify collaborators within US, Global and cross functional US teams (e.g., legal, Ops, etc.)
  • Kickoff program(s)/project(s) and establish clear roles and responsibilities/governance
  • Proactively see opportunities, risks, and interdependencies to solution cross-functionally
  • Deliver high quality project management. support to enable execution of US Tech projects, embedding in project teams and follow standardized standard processes
  • Communicate updates to collaborators
  • Maintain open lines of communication with US engineering and deployment teams
  • Assign un unclaimed responsibilities (e.g., delegate vs. own based on clearly established R&R guides)
  • Build required templates and maintain regularly (project plan, RAID log, Dashboard)
  • Build and lead back to green plans with clear owners and due dates
  • Ensure project/program completes vital governance stage gates
  • Break down work into tangible bodies of work with respective owners - clear workstreams
  • Continue to bring team back to scope of program/project - if scope change is in discussion, ensuring accurate alignment with leadership and working team before formally changing scope
  • Initiate and maintain dialogue and regular check-ins between US and Global PMO (EPMO) to maintain alignment on program/project status, providing information on US Tech programs/projects as vital
  • Establish weekly XF team meeting cadences (ceremonies)
  • Establish and leverage escalation matrix and channels
  • Support project manager as needed (if one is assigned to work)
  • Ensure program/project close-out happens and is accurately communicated to key collaborators
  • Prepare leadership meeting materials and drive/facilitate leadership meetings as the need arises (weekly Portfolio meetings)
  • Work directly with Strategic Alignment team to (a) regularly share program/project wins and (b) shape narrative on program success in order to enable Strategic Alignment communications to key collaborators (incl. M-Tech Portfolio leads, US Tech Leadership / Senior Directors)

Qualifications:

  • Proven track record to lead and influence internal and external collaborators.
  • Experience working in a fast paced environment and handle work load independently
  • Ability to quickly shift focus to the needs of the business
  • Thoughtful problem solver and able to explore, document and present solutions to keep business moving forward
  • Phenomenal teammate and connector of people
  • Applies professional principles and business judgment to tackle unique problems or to develop new procedures, process and products
  • Sophisticated knowledge and understanding of standard processes in the industry
  • Educate as a Deep Subject Matter Expert (SME) in process and tools and works to propagate knowledge across teams
  • Experience working with technology projects and programs
  • Ability to build presentations and communicate effectively with executive leaders, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines prioritizing multiple priorities
  • Budgeting/costing knowledge
  • Proficiency with MS Office, Teams, Confluence, Jira and Smartsheets
  • Solid understanding of a variety of technology solutions
  • Ten years professional working experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP),Agile Certifications (e.g. PSM, CSM, etc.) or equivalent work experience preferred
