Job Description
Summary:
Reporting to the Controller, the Staff Accountant Supervisor must have experience in Cost Accounting.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Accounting:
- Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
- Maintain and reconcile fixed asset schedules.
- Prepare and process 1099's
- Prepare journal entries and assist with the month-end and reconciliation and closing process.
· Prepare Balance Sheet account reconciliations, identifying and rectifying errors.
· Prepare a variety of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
Cost Accounting:
- Analyze data related to manufacturing processes, inventory management, and overhead expenses to provide insights for decision-making and cost control measures.
- Collaborate with various departments to gather cost data, forecast future expenses, and establish cost targets. Monitor and report on budget variances, highlighting areas of concern and recommending corrective actions.
- Develop and implement cost allocation methodologies to accurately assign costs to products, projects, or departments.
- Maintain and update costing systems to ensure accurate and timely cost information. Identify and implement improvements to streamline processes and enhance cost allocation accuracy.
- Monitor and analyze inventory levels, ensuring accurate valuation and minimizing carrying costs. Collaborate with the procurement team to optimize inventory levels and identify opportunities for inventory reduction or obsolescence mitigation.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, policies, and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with internal and external auditors during financial audits.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
- 5-7 years of experience in accounting or finance, with exposure to A/R, A/P, and cost accounting functions.
- Three (3) years of Supervisory experience.
- Solid understanding of basic GAAP accounting principles and procedures.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).

Work Environment and Physical Demands:
· Able to stand, regularly required to talk and hear.
· Must have good vision and manual dexterity.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment
- Walking and climbing stairs
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times
- Adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment.
- Plant equipment noise is elevated requiring the use of hearing protection and seasonal temperatures can be expected.
· Exposure to approx. 85-decibel sound while on the plant floor (appropriate ear protection will be provided)
· Exposure to cold temperatures while on the production floor and in other parts of the building
· Company-provided Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) must be worn while on the production floor
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65K to $75K per year
