Patient Access Biller

We are currently hiring a Patient Access Biller to handle payments at a medical women’s clinic. For this role, you will be responsible for entering all charges and following the charges thru until they are paid by patients.
Responsibilities
- Entering charges daily including surgeries and hospital visits. This involves knowledge of coding rules and making sure the claims go out correctly the first time. This also may include verifying insurance information as needed.
- Processing claims electronically every day. Printing and mailing the claims that need to go on paper, attaching any documentation or consents as needed.
- Processing secondary claims by attaching the primary insurance explanation of benefits to the secondary claim and mailing along with any documentation or consents that may be needed.
- Working outstanding claims daily. This involves checking to see why insurance has not responded/paid and/or denied. Correcting the claim and resubmitting. If denied this may include submitting an appeal to the insurance company.
- Posting electronic remits and hard copy checks that come in the mail.
- Perform related work as necessary.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Certification preferred
- Previous Medical Billing and Coding experience required
Requirements
- Knowledge with Electronic Health System, Insurance requirements, Medical Coding and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent telephone skills and etiquette
- Great organizational skills
- Adhere to acceptable standards of business ethics and integrity, and complies with all federal, state and local laws, rules regulations in all aspects of business at all times
Pay Rate: $15.00 HR./
Schedule: Monday – Thursday 8:00AM – 5:00PM, Friday 8:00AM – 3:00PM
