DAYS/HOURS OF JOB: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and or Sunday (Quarter 1 and Quarter 2)

** shift times before 9:00 am after 4:30pm- discretion of WBL employer needs

Shift 1: 9:00am- 1:00pm Shift 2: 1:00pm-4:30pm Duration: 4 weeks -12 weeks


Job Summary:

Responsible for assisting with the entire sales/marketing/merchandising and inventory for A New Leaf, Inc. retail stores and wholesale businesses. Assists Sales Manager and Horticulture Manager to ensure retail centers are fully stocked with seasonal inventory, ready for special events and assist with customer requests as well as wholesale customer requests.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

1. Supports the retail staff, job coaches and our clients in an appropriate manner. Help identify and resolve issues related to sales goals, materials, locations and quality standards of the work performed by the clients.

2. Assists the Sales Manager with sales execution of A New Leaf retail stores and wholesale business.

3. Ride along on wholesale bus to sell, up-sale and deliver product to wholesale customers with clients and job coaches.

4. Assists overseeing all aspects of off-site plant sales, events and promotional activity to include but not limited to setting up/delivering/organization of monthly off-site plant sales.

5. Responsible for monitoring and reporting wholesale customer’s sales and product requests to Sales Manager on daily basis.

6. Responsible for communicating retail store, sales and product requests to Sales Manager on daily basis.

7. Assists with maintaining weekly, monthly, seasonal and annual sales reports. Tracking best sellers and product needs to communicate to Sales Manager.

8. Assists with keeping retail stores astatically merchandised, creating an inviting environment for customers as well as potential donors.

9. Assists in unloading trucks delivering product, soil, containers, fertilizers, chemicals and other retail supplies.

10. Responsible for organizing product and storage areas to achieve efficiency for back stock and supplies.

11. Assists in executing visual sign calendar for retail locations.

12. Attends all necessary license/certification, in-service training, and conferences in order to maintain awareness of policies, procedures and current greenhouse regulations, along with supervision and training techniques.

13. Complies with recognized professional standards of ethical conduct and maintain quality services.


This position allows the student to practice the skills they learned in their pre-requisite/core and year 1 classes, exploring career opportunities related to retail sales operations in the occupational Horticulture Retail Sales.


The student will complete an application and will interview with the manager of the assigned work-based learning site (Retail Sales)

Additional Requirements


• Maintain CPR/First Aid certification.

• Criminal arrest check will be done through the OSBI; Per Section 1025.1 et seq. Of Title 56 of the Oklahoma statues, House Bill 1790, any prospective employee with a felony or misdemeanor conviction, guilty plea or plea of nolo contendere will not be eligible for employment. This prohibition may be disregarded if an appropriate waiver is obtained from the Office of the Director, DDSD, Department of Human Services, or his/her designees.

• Community Services Registry check (House Bill 1790) will be done through DDSD, Department of Human Services. The person whose name appears on the registry cannot work for A New Leaf.
