Job Description

We are seeking a strong and experienced Director of Sales to lead and inspire the sales team at an Upscale Boutique Hotel.


Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with the General Manager and Revenue Manager to devise pricing and market strategies, consistently monitoring competition and market dynamics. Be ready to adapt and respond effectively to changing market conditions.


  • Achieve or surpass predetermined booking targets for guest room revenue, ensuring monthly costs and revenue align with budgeted expectations. Exercise negotiation flexibility within established guidelines while upholding overall revenue goals.


  • Responsibly manage inquiry calls, ensuring prompt responses within the business day. Efficiently oversee paperwork flow related to confirming function details for clients.


  • Actively seek new and repeat guest room and meeting business through solicitation. Cultivate and maintain a client base comprising key accounts and conventions. Assess guest needs, space availability, and meeting requirements.


  • Conduct outside sales and solicitation calls to secure business, utilizing site inspections as a tool for booking.


  • Monitor pricing, service levels, facilities, and function activities at competitive venues to maintain the hotel's competitive position.


  • Evaluate potential business opportunities for profitability and overall benefit to the hotel.


  • Demonstrate knowledge and skill in upselling clients while maintaining a high level of service aligned with the luxury status of the facility.


  • Coordinate Sales group functions, ensuring accurate and timely preparation of detailed Sales Contracts and Group Resumes. Review function contracts before distribution to clients and hotel staff.


  • Follow up on group bookings, including room night pick-up, rooming lists, and cut-off dates. Actively pursue repeat business through effective follow-up.


  • Represent the hotel in community affairs and industry-related events.


  • Prepare periodic sales reports and weekly activity reports, encompassing financial booking performance and personal call reports for active solicitation.



Qualifications:


  • Minimum of two (2) years experience in hotel sales and a proven track record of success.
  • Understand and analyze STAR Data for informed decision-making.
  • Possess an understanding of various market conditions and influencers
  • Knowledge of selling in multiple market segments including: Corporate, SMERF, and Association
  • Strong oral and written communication skills combined with computer, presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Strong decision-making capabilities and strategizing skills.
