Job Description
Hours: 8:00 - 5:00 Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week
The Processing Assistant is responsible for preparing, maintaining and receiving records, data entry, filing and scheduling appointments.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Interview patients to obtain medical, financial, and personal data
- Maintain all records and file pertaining to unit or program activities
- Provide high level of customer service
- Verify insurance for clinical services
- Collect payments from patients; follow financial policies and procedures
- Enter data specific to clinical services
- Ensure confidentiality of data
Education/Experience:
- Any combination of education and clerical experience equivalent to graduation from high school
- Fluent in both written and oral English and Spanish language (assessment must be passed pre-hire)
- Medical office or other equivalent office experience preferred
Skills/Abilities/Knowledge:
- Ability to follow and apply policies and procedures
- Must be able to type accurately at a reasonable rate of speed
- Possess ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, associates and the general public
- Must have skill in the operation of standard office and data entry equipment
- Thorough knowledge of standard office practices, procedures, equipment and office assistance techniques
- Considerable knowledge of business English, spelling and arithmetic
