Hours: 8:00 - 5:00 Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week

The Processing Assistant is responsible for preparing, maintaining and receiving records, data entry, filing and scheduling appointments.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Interview patients to obtain medical, financial, and personal data
  • Maintain all records and file pertaining to unit or program activities
  • Provide high level of customer service
  • Verify insurance for clinical services
  • Collect payments from patients; follow financial policies and procedures
  • Enter data specific to clinical services
  • Ensure confidentiality of data

Education/Experience:

  • Any combination of education and clerical experience equivalent to graduation from high school
  • Fluent in both written and oral English and Spanish language (assessment must be passed pre-hire)
  • Medical office or other equivalent office experience preferred

Skills/Abilities/Knowledge:

  • Ability to follow and apply policies and procedures
  • Must be able to type accurately at a reasonable rate of speed
  • Possess ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, associates and the general public
  • Must have skill in the operation of standard office and data entry equipment
  • Thorough knowledge of standard office practices, procedures, equipment and office assistance techniques
  • Considerable knowledge of business English, spelling and arithmetic
