Responsibilities

The General Manager is responsible for the general operations of the club. Member satisfaction, staff development and sales are the key focus areas of the position. The position requires dedication and discipline to achieve performance excellence. The General Manager works alongside the other department managers of the club to achieve that excellence.

  • Oversees and assumes responsibility for the general club operations including management of all Front Desk, Assistant Manager, Porters and Babysitting team members. Works with the department managers to achieve success for the entire club.
  • Fully understands and adheres to the companys Mission Statement, core values and overall culture of Fit Factory, leading by example and holding all team members accountable.
  • Recruits, interviews and ultimately make the decision to hire new team members for the Front Desk and Babysitting teams.
  • Effectively manage and communicate Policies and Procedures and make sure they are being adhered to.
  • Authorizes and approves all staffing changes including new hires, promotions and terminations while maintaining the set forth standard budget.
  • Schedule all front desk team members to ensure the club is staffed while staying within the parameters of the payroll budgets.
  • Strives to continuously coach, motivate and develop all team members.
  • Ensure the club delivers high-quality services and member satisfaction.
  • Implement standards for customer service, staff performance, and facility cleanliness.
  • Respond to customer complaints and concerns in a professional manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Sales & Goals
  • Oversees the entire membership department to ensure that all KPIs are met.
  • Provides regular feedback to the Director of Sales to help understand and improve the clubs needs in order to achieve goals and KPIs.
  • Works with the Personal Training and Group Fitness department to ensure KPIs are met.

Requirements
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and gym management software.
  • Strong understanding of sales and customer service principles.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and develop effective strategies.
  • Flexibility to travel as needed.
  • Passion for health and fitness is essential.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Sports Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a managerial role, preferably in the fitness or hospitality industry.
  • Proven experience in managing multiple locations or teams.

Reports to
Director of Operations & Director of Sales

Hours & Schedule

We believe in work life balance and loving what you do. We expect all our employees to be flexible with taking on shifts, changing of times in shifts, etc. Fit Factory will return the flexibility in honoring changes to your schedule as needed. All shift changes and requests for time off must be submitted and approved via email to your immediate supervisor. A minimum of two weeks is required for changes to shifts and schedule.
Shifts run from 8am-5pm Monday through Thursday, 8am-2pm on Fridays and minimum of 2 Saturdays per month from 8am-12pm.
