Job Description

Ironworker/Connector

The ironworker/ connector reports to the Foreman. Applicant will perform any of the following duties raise, place, unite, connect girders, columns, and other structural members.

  • Erecting structural steel by placing and aligning steel members.
  • Properly rig steel members with wire, ropes, chain, cable, and straps.
  • Signals operator of hoisting equipment to lift and place steel members.
  • Guides Structural members by pulling, pushing, or prying steel members into final position.
  • Connect steel members by bolting or welding.
  • Verify vertical and horizontal alignment of members.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints to Bolt-up and/or weld structural members.
  • Tools: Must have all required hand tools for related craft.
  • Experience operating boom lift up to 125 feet.
  • Ability to lift over 50lbs.
  • Must not be afraid of heights.
  • Work safely and follow all established OSHA policies, company policies and client policies. safety regulations.
  • Must establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Must communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work overtime, must be able to work up to 60hr a week including Saturdays and night shift if necessary.
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions, rain, wind, and high heat.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) a plus


Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent education/training with two years of steel erector experience.
  • Previous experience as an Ironworker/Connector.
  • Be dependable, honest, passionate, and trustworthy.
  • Pass E-Verify and drug screenings.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to travel and be on the road for extended periods of time.
  • This is a traveling position and requires many days on the road throughout the year.
