Utilizing advanced methodologies and proprietary in-house tools, BakerRisk engineers assess the consequences and risks associated with potentially catastrophic events including explosions, fires, and toxic material releases.

Job Summary

Responsible for the delivery of technology solutions and hands-on deployment of the enterprise's overall information systems. Defines technology solutions based on business needs, cost, and required integration with existing systems. Conducts research to identify technology products required for business goals and recommend solutions that will increase cost effectiveness and systems reliability. Works autonomously on advanced, complex technical project tasks, business outages, and daily technology issues. This position requires staying on top of industry trends and innovative technologies. Responsible for managing and maintaining back-end IT systems and software. Work assignments may be supervised by senior IT staff members.

Specific Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • The primary role is to support Tier 3 team goals and work escalations from the Tier 2 team.
  • Perform installation and configuration of back-end equipment: servers, networks, storage, UPS.
  • Remediate and refresh equipment and cabling of back-end systems
  • Monitor systems and execute test plans to validate integrity and performance.
  • Provide proactive support and maintenance to prevent future issues.
  • Evaluate requirements of business solutions and project goals.
  • Capacity planning to anticipate future needs of the business as it relates to all forms of technology.
  • Create reports on findings and make recommendations for change management.
  • Produce documentation of procedures and system diagrams.
  • Consult with outside vendors support departments on hardware and software.
  • Collaborate with Resellers (VAR) and vendors to define, quote, and procure hardware and software.
  • Ensure compliance of software licensing and equipment warranty contract renewals.
  • Independently perform in-depth research and view educational materials as needed.
  • Availability and willingness to perform after-hours and weekend work as needed.
  • Prioritize and execute tasks without supervision.
  • On-Call Schedule Team Rotation.
  • Complete standardized forms for purchase orders.
  • Always communicates respectfully and effectively with staff members and end users.
  • Able to collaborate effectively while under pressure.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Relevant Experience

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Back-End Hardware, Server, Storage, Networking, Cabling.
  • 5+ years of experience with VMware Server products.
  • 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Windows Server products and Active Directory.
  • 5+ years of experience with Cisco Network Switches and WIFI equipment.
  • 5+ years of experience with Storage Systems (SAN / NAS).
  • 3+ Years of experience with Cloud technologies: (O365, Azure, AWS, SSO)
  • 3+ Years of experience with Microsoft SQL Servers, installation, configure, and maintenance.
  • 3+ Years of experience managing SD-WAN
  • 3+ Years of experience with IT Security Technologies.
  • Capacity Planning of back-end systems, including servers, storage, networking, and power.
  • Advanced level diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
  • Technical writing for documentation, solution presentations, and change management.

Education and Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS, or related field preferred.
  • Industry certifications or equivalent experience VCP, CCNA, MCSE, ITIL, LEAN
  • 5+ years of experience managing Windows Server Administration.
  • 5+ years overall hands-on technical experience as a server and network administrator.
  • Proven track history of fortitude to follow-through and deliver complex solutions.
