Meridian HealthCare is looking to hire full-time and part-time Counselors to work in our inpatient and outpatient treatment programs in the Mahoning and Trumbull Counties. If you are passionate about providing excellent patient care, please read on!

WORK SCHEDULE FOR A COUNSELOR

These positions typically work normal business hours, 8:30am - 4:30pm.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A COUNSELOR

As a Counselor working in our outpatient and inpatient treatment programs, you provide therapeutic interventions to patients and family, interview patients, coordinate assessments, and prepare a narrative summary including problem areas, client strengths, treatment recommendations and diagnosis. You will provide individual counseling and patient access to individualized treatment to ensure patient rights are upheld, facilitate patient's active participation in treatment planning whenever possible, and to inform patient of alternative treatment services and procedures that are available. In addition, you will participate in weekly clinical supervision meetings and present client cases and seek additional professional consultation as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR COUNSELORS

  • Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work or related field preferred (LPC, LPCC, LSW, LISW. LCDC II, LCDC III or LICDC required)
  • Competency or training in chemical dependency treatment
