TRISTAR is seeking a Engineering Technician V for our government customer in Crane, IN


Position Description:

  • The Engineering Technician is responsible for Depot level repairs of Power Supplies for the AN/SLQ-32 system
  • These repairs directly support the Performance Based Logistics group at NSWC Crane, and facilitates getting A condition assets into the Navy Supply System so they are available to ships
  • This position will be responsible for maintaining documentation, redlining procedures as needed, and contributing to process improvements if observed

Position Responsibilities:

  • Able to follow procedures / instructions to perform power supply characteristics testing, modification, and computer system testing as instructed
  • Need to be able to conduct reliability testing procedures for products
  • Operate system and power supply testing equipment and oscilloscopes
  • Generate test reports and record the complete test process, configuration, findings, waveforms, and results within appropriate Shop Workload System
  • Modify power supply product as required and soldering duties will be involved in repairs of assets
  • Work appropriate jobs in a timely fashion in order to meet deadlines and keep on schedule

Position Requirements:

  • Basic knowledge of electronic circuits, PC or server operation
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office and be able to generate test report
  • Experience and basic knowledge of computer hardware is a plus
  • Knowledge of power supplies operation and testing process is a plus
  • Familiar with basic oscilloscope operation and good soldering skill is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail, including accuracy and thoroughness
  • Solid communications skills both verbal and written
  • Basic electronics, digital and components knowledge background
  • Able to work independently and be a good team player
  • MUST be a US Citizen
  • Must have active Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one

Education and Certifications:

  • Minimum AA in Engineering, BS degree preferred or years experience with Depot level repairs of Power Supplies for the AN/SLQ-32 system
  • J-STD Certification
