The City of O'Fallon, MO is looking to hire a Service Route Operator. Our Service Route Operators earn competitive salaries from $45,739.20-$68,619.20 with midpoint control. Your first year you can expect to make a starting salary of $45,739.20. A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A SERVICE ROUTE OPERATOR
As part of our Environmental Services Division, you will be responsible for assisting in the collection of solid waste along an established route. Generally, your schedule will be daytime hours Tuesday through Friday.

Other duties and responsibilities include:
- This position will start on a two man truck servicing yard waste customers.
- Operating a refuse truck to collect refuse, recyclables, yard and bulk waste.
- Performing pre- and post-trip vehicle and equipment inspections.
- Assembling refuse and recyclable containers
- Performing preventative maintenance on assigned vehicles and equipment
- Cleaning assigned vehicles and equipment
We're looking for someone who is comfortable reading maps who has knowledge of basic methods, techniques and equipment used in residential and commercial solid waste collection activities. This person should be someone who can be relied upon to perform their daily tasks with little to no supervision.

Requirements include:
- Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license for the type of vehicle or equipment operated. Class A or B CDL or a valid permit. Preference will be given to a CDL or a permit.
- Skill in using a variety of tools and equipment in performing solid waste collection activities.
- Knowledge of city geography, including street locations
