Hammer Made is looking to hire a Part-time temporary Accounting and Payroll Clerk to work at the corporate office in Eden Prairie. This position has the potential to turn into a permanent position in the future.
Hours are: Monday - Friday Between the hours of 8:30 to 5:00 pm (20-30 hrs a week).
Essential Job Duties
30% Vendor Invoice and payables
· Maintains the general ledger
· Performs general cost accounting and Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books other related duties in the accounting department
· Reconciles customer accounts and manages accounts receivable collections.
· Verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
20% Monthly Financials (in partnership with temp accountant)
· Enters financial data from Shopify into Quick Books
· Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
· Creates Journal Entries for month end
· Prepares periodic (monthly) balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements
5% Daily reconciliation of bank account
10% Inventory – wires and reconciliations
10% Payroll and Benefits
· Assist HR Generalist with bi-weekly Payroll in Paylocity and entering benefit deductions
· Run reports for bonus payments and create payment batch bi-weekly or monthly
Competencies
· Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
· Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
· Highly proficient with accounting software.
· Experience with processing bi-weekly payroll - Paylocity experience a plus
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
· Excellent time management skills and attention to detail.
· Highly organized with an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Education and Experience Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree or AA Degree in Accounting or Business Admin/HR
