Position Responsibilities

May include:

  • Provide project level application support to Daikin sales staff and our network of Daikin Manufacturer Reps & Distributors in the North American market
  • Specify changes to existing tools or new software products needed with our internal tools and applications group.
  • Effectively communicate project status to internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor competitive activities/products and provide continuous gap analysis in products/services.
  • Possess Competitor conversion and comparison skills to maximize Daikin’s opportunities for all projects
  • Know and understand regulatory requirements for products and convert knowledge to risk mitigation strategies.
  • Provide sales support for product benefits and features internally and externally (Product Training/Architects/Engineers at meetings, events, seminars).
  • Participate in additional activities/projects to support ongoing business needs.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge of HVAC products, load calculations, building controls, and installation practices
  • Specific knowledge of Hydronic/Water Systems is essential
  • Specific knowledge of VRV/VRF technology is beneficial
  • Excellent presentation and written/verbal communication skills
  • Understands and applies commercial specification requirements for professional submittals and applications of products to multiple stakeholders (Building Owners, Architects, Engineers and Project Managers).
  • Understands and applies energy management calculations for single-phase equipment for evaluations and specifications.
  • Understands and applies building codes and regulations knowledge to create advantages for single-phase equipment usage in multi-tenant applications.
  • Provides direction to other Product Managers and cross-functional professionals in the organization.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Possess computer proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to speak in public.
  • Ability to develop effective communication pieces such as (presentations, written memos, etc.).
  • Applies Voice of Customer techniques to product cycle
  • Ability to apply business and financial methods.
  • Ability to negotiate externally with vendor partners and internally with other company professionals.
  • Advanced knowledge of HVAC technology, components and industry and maintain up.
  • Experience with an HVAC manufacturer.
  • Advanced knowledge of durable goods manufacturing processes.
  • Influences quality systems
  • Experience writing technical documents (manuals, spec sheets) a plus
  • Knowledge of building science a plus
  • Flexibility to adapt work plan to reach goals as conditions change inside and outside company
  • Demonstrated self-starter

Experience

  • 3-5 years’ of highly progressive experience

Education/Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
