JOB SUMMARY:

The Supervisor directs the activities of the department for the desired accuracy, quality and quantity of work.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Supervise and direct the activities of the team leader and other employees in department with respect to, inventory accuracy, organization, adherence to SOP’s, production volume, cost, quality, meeting production schedules and delivery dates.
  2. Confer with General Manager to establish working schedules for all departments connected with production.
  3. Schedule overtime, as required.
  4. Assure efficient and accurate issuance of materials, improvement of methods and elimination of wasteful practices within the department.
  5. Establish accountability and goals used for performance evaluation.
  6. Assure that machinery, equipment and facilities are properly maintained for security and accuracy of inventory.
  7. Arrange to have appropriate shipping documents and inventory records prepared and maintained.
  8. Maintain adherence to company policies, safety standards and good housekeeping policies.
  9. Maintain good employee relations, take proper and judicious disciplinary measures when required, keep records of all departmental activities.
  10. Improve efficiency.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform other duties as required or directed.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High school graduate or equivalent. Additional college-level courses in related field desirable.
  2. Five to eight years of directly related experience with at least two years supervisory experience.
  3. Good working knowledge of all phases of department processes, standards, procedures and equipment.
  4. History of exceptional work performance.
  5. Interest in and ability to lead employees and delegate work assignments.
  6. Ability to conceptualize materials and workflow and make necessary adjustments mid-stream.
  7. Understand and promote the concept and importance of continuous improvement.
  8. Strong knowledge of MRP systems.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  1. Physical fitness to perform all job functions of the designated work area, including any and all maintenance and heavy lifting assignments. This includes standing, small tool use, full arm and leg range of motion, bending, lifting, walking, crouching, talking or hearing.
  2. Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
