Position: Summer School Aide

Overview

Leading and supporting students as they participate in activities in and/or out of the classroom.

Responsibilities

Job Duties include:

• Report to your designated area before school and during dismissal.
• Unless advised otherwise, your assigned classroom is your responsibility.
• Lead students and participate with hands-on activities, presentations and field trips.
• Monitor students to ensure compliance of summer school rules and to prevent accidents.
• Report any incidents, accidents, and rule violations to appropriate staff.
• Cleaning, maintaining and ensuring proper use of all supplies and equipment.
• Perform headcounts of students throughout the day.
  • Headcounts should be performed prior to leaving the classroom, after boarding buses, and arriving/departing from Field Trip locations.
• Ensure no distractions or interferences with the delivery of instruction/activities.
  • No texting, talking on cell phone, or wearing headphones while on duty. Especially during a field trip.
• Other duties as instructed by teachers and/or administrators.

Attendance

Your attendance is vital for the success of our program. Advise your building director of any known absences as soon as possible. Please try to give a minimum of a 12 hour notice if you will be unable to make your next scheduled work day.

Other Requirements

• Be willing to provide information for background check clearance.
