Vertin-Munson Funeral and Cremation Service 

Location: Breckenridge, MN and Wahpeton, ND

Vertin-Munson Funeral & Cremation Service is in our Wahpeton, North Dakota community, and we are adding a General Manager to our team.  This role will also manage our Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home in Breckenridge, MN.  Our General Manager's lead and manage the day-to-day activities of this location, in addition to leadership, you will also work both arrangements and embalming, upholding our mission of honoring lives and enriching caregivers.  Our Funeral Directors quickly adapt to the needs of individual families by presenting personalized, meaningful, and creative ideas to help honor and celebrate each life lived.

What you’ll do:

• Manage employee performance using established metrics and expectations, tracking progress against the goals, ensuring timely feedback, and all other leadership duties.
• Lead staff meetings and promote growth for employees.  Support the staff and families we serve.
• Arrange and conduct funeral and memorial ceremonies in a professional, organized, and caring manner in keeping with company policies and procedures.
• Perform a variety of tasks related to preparation of the deceased: removal and transfer, embalming, cosmetology, hairstyling, dressing, and casketing all within a respectful manner.
• Build a strong relationship with the community through active involvement in area organizations and participation in charitable events.
• Promote and maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
• Ensure adherence to all professional, state, and federal licensing authority, regulations, and rules applicable to funeral service.

Experience you need to bring:

• 2+ years of Funeral Director experience
• 1+ Management/Mentorship experience
• Accountability for serving families in a professional, compassionate, patient, and timely manner, you have a strong dedication in serving others.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Experience with MS Office and social media (i.e., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn)- yes, you’ll get social!
• Strong organizational skills

Educational Requirements:

• Degree from Accredited Mortuary Science Program plus additional college credits as required in the applicable state
  • To serve our Minnesota families, you must hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent credits
• Successful completion of the National Board Examination
• Successful completion of the applicable State Board Examination
• Valid Funeral Director and/or Embalmer State Licensure
• Valid Driver’s License
