Job Description
Field Resources Manager                                                                                       

 A. Job ResponsibilitiesThe Field Resources Manager is responsible for managing the resources necessary for a profitable, safe, and on-time project completion.  A dedicated and skilled workforce is essential to success, so the field resources manager must develop both people and processes to ensure long-term company viability.  Promoting teamwork is essential for this position.  B. Job FunctionsSummary of Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Build a winning team by maintaining a positive team attitude and work environment.
  2. Promote the overall safety program and help Safety Team ensure jobsite safety
  3. Promote efficient resource utilization by coordinating crew manpower, equipment and material needs.
  4. Encourage consistent and efficient means and methods by enforcing company field production standards and holding field leadership accountable for results.

C. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  1. Assist Superintendents to coordinate manpower requirements and equipment needs.
  2. Review and recruit field manpower by reviewing and selecting resumes to meet manpower needs.
  3. Work with HR to interview and hire candidates as needed.
  4. Determine manpower needed to meet production schedule.
  5. Assist HR by playing an active role in developing and executing competencies of new hires, including development paths.
  6. Attend and participate in weekly superintendent meetings and monthly management meetings and construction meetings
  7. Attend and participate in project start-up and customer start-up meeting.
  8. Attend project hand off meetings.

  1. Ascertain crew production reports for labor and equipment.  Review results with PMs, superintendents, and foremen weekly
  2. Procure look-ahead schedules and review with superintendents weekly
  3. Assist with performance management issues and offer solutions to field problems.
  4. Carryout the mission and goals of the Construction Director
  5. Lead the job performance review process for all field employees.
  6. Facilitate company superintendent/foreman meetings in absence of Construction Director
  7. Responsible for corporate office maintenance and scheduling repairs
  8. Connect with front line employees, by ensuring all projects are visited at least quarterly.

E. Education and Experience
  1. University degree (B.S./B.A.) in Engineering or Construction Management highly preferred, and/or extensive equivalent experience (4+yrs) in construction applications.
  2. Exceptional communication skills
  3. Ability to learn construction jobsite operations for the purpose of hiring, demonstration and training.
  4. Knowledge of and experience with in-field production quantities and tracking systems.
 
  1. Experience in problem-solving technical issues
  2. Basic understanding of computer networks, systems, and software
  3. Basic understanding of Construction related principles.
  4. Strong leadership skills supported by presentation and communication skills, including computer proficiency (MS Office, application tools as required).
Additional Information
Expect approximately 30% travel in North America to jobsites for collaboration with field leadership and other employees.
