Job Title: Receiving Dock Associate
Location: Fort Myers, FL
Reports to: Purchasing Manager
Status: Non-Exempt

Job Summary: As a Receiving Dock Associate, you will play a critical role in the efficient operation of our receiving department. You will be responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, and recording incoming shipments. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will ensure that our inventory management processes run smoothly and that our customers receive their orders promptly and accurately.
Responsibilities:
  • Receive incoming shipments and verify the accuracy of quantities and items against packing lists or purchase orders.
  • Inspect shipments for damage or discrepancies and report any issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Record and label received items accurately in the inventory management system.
  • Organize and store received items in designated locations within the warehouse or storage area.
  • Assist with the sorting, packing, and shipping of outgoing orders as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the receiving area, including keeping aisles clear and storage areas tidy.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely processing of incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Follow safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Participate in periodic inventory counts and audits to maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers, carriers, and other internal stakeholders to resolve any issues or discrepancies related to incoming shipments.
  • Bring packages to banquet clients/events and fill forms out for event managers
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse, receiving, or logistics role preferred.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems and basic computer skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately record and label items.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects safely, as needed.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules.
  • Commitment to following safety protocols and maintaining a clean and orderly work environment.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
NOTICE: The hotel business functions seven days a week, 24 hours a day. All employees must realize this fact and be aware that at all times it may be necessary to move employees from their accustomed shift as business demands. In addition, this is a hospitality business and a hospitable service atmosphere must be projected at all times.
