Job Summary and Qualifications

The Director, Clinical Services, serves as an integral part of the clinical operations and sourcing teams, performing an extensive search of clinical evidence, regulatory and professional guidelines, journals and other literature sources, to provide clinical support for various HealthTrust sourcing initiatives. Working closely with members of the Physician Advisor Program and through the creation of clinical evidence summaries (CES), technical review documents, webinars, and other tools, the clinical evidence will be summarized creating content that is actionable for the membership and clinical advisory boards.

What you will do in this role:

• Understands the GPO and healthcare landscape to identify and size clinical opportunities including but not limited to physician preference items (PPI) and clinically sensitive categories.
• Effectively research, analyze, evaluate and summarize evidence and data into sound clinical documents and tools (CE151Ss, technical reviews, comparative matrices, etc.); requires creative, innovative and curious learners who are willing to explore content outside their own personal specialties or comfort areas and are confident in their literature assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Strategic collaboration with Sourcing and Clinical Operations to maximize the effectiveness of the clinical research documents and Physician Advisor engagement; discuss best-practice strategy with organizational leaders as we help design the path to evidence-based actions that lead to best patient outcomes.
• Serves as clinical education support to Member Education team as they work to identify and develop live webinars, The Source content and HTU education agenda.
• Participates in supply chain and clinical advisory board meetings.

What qualifications you will need:

• Bachelor’s degree nursing
• Master’s degree nursing or other advanced clinical degree (MHS, MPH, PA), required
• Clinician with minimum 7+ years’ hospital or health-system experience
• Previous demonstrated leadership experience (in hospital preferred), building positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and optimizing related metrics
• Demonstrated experience with literature evaluation and clinical writing
• Strong understanding of supply chain, hospital and healthcare consumerism (provider and physician challenges etc.)
