Machine Operator/Setup - Tapping; 2nd Shift, 2:00pm-10:00pm; Up to $19.95/hour.
**Sign on Bonus - Retention Bonus - Shift Differential**

Position Summary

Set up operator will be responsible for set ups, training, troubleshooting, quality, paper work and notifying supervisor of any operational problems. Must be able to understand

Essential Job Functions
  • Set up Tapping machines
  • Trouble shoot machinery and quality issues
  • Execute tapping department processes and procedures
  • Provide management with supporting documents and data as required
  • Notify supervisor to purchase tooling, taps, and machine repair parts as required
  • Schedule parts for tappers and operators according to production schedule
  • Understand tapping sequence
  • Load machines with parts as required
  • Operate PIV
  • Clean out oil and parts from inside machines
  • Keep tooling clean and in working order
  • Perform training for department as necessary
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Able to work different shift to cover production needed
  • Understand inventory system and tool re ordering


Essential Skills & Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic or schedule form
  • Apply principles of rational systems to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Follows appropriate housekeeping procedures according to company guidelines
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor


Competencies (5-10 Critical Areas of Understanding/Practice for the role)
  • Basic mathematical understanding and ability (add, subtract, divide units of measurement)
  • Practical application of proportion and geometric construction
  • Organized -ability to maintain orderly work stations and tool crib area


Physical Demands
  • Walking, standing and moving for 8 hour shift
  • Use of hands, arms and fingers regularly, pushing and pulling
  • Lifting 5-35 pounds regularly, occasionally 50+ lbs - assisted 2 person lift anything over 35 lbs
  • Climb ladder, stool


Personal Protective Equipment
  • Hearing protection
  • Safety Glasses
  • Safety shoes - slip resistant and safety toe
  • Other additional PPE may be required when operating machinery or using chemicals.


Working Conditions

Inside production facility, temperature fluctuates dependent on season. Noise levels require hearing protection. Working around powered industrial vehicles. Production floor can become slippery with oil. Working with and around chemicals and oils.
