Job Overview:

This Repair Service Center Mentorship position is responsible for learning all functions of the repair process including check in, locating, pack out, vendor work order handling, material handling, and training as a Repair Technician. This critical position supports the movement of repair work orders through the facility as quickly and accurately as possible. The position will also assist in picking all parts, part inventory, part cycle count and for making sure our Repair Technicians have all needed material for repairing tools. This position will follow a structured training schedule while apprenticing as a Repair Technician to possibly fill open positions in the future. Attention to detail, working with a sense of urgency, quality work and communication are all critical for individuals in the Repair Service Center Mentorship position.

The qualified individual should also possess strong mechanical ability and be able to learn to use test equipment such as a bolt tension meter and RPM meter. This person should also be able read and understand schematics and technical documents pertaining to the repair of air, electric and cordless power tools.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Part picking and put away, inventory cycle count and assists the team on improving our processes for handling all parts and material used in the process of repairing tools.
  • Ability to learn and effectively use computer systems including AYS, AS400, and WMS
  • Ability to develop a working knowledge of all positions in the repair center including:
    • Check In
    • Pack Out and Locate
    • Vendor Work Order handling
    • Repair Technician
  • Offer continuous improvement suggestions for our systems, processes, and policies.
  • Help identify escalating concerns, patterns, or service issues.
  • Ability to work with a high sense of urgency and professionalism, capable of handling stressful situations.
  • Miscellaneous tasks including projects such as 5S and Kaizen, and other duties assigned by the Supervisor or Lead


Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic math skills, including proficiency in the use of fractions and percentages.
  • Able to multitask, prioritize workload, and have a high tolerance for stress.
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of quality orientation
  • Able to adapt and prioritize work to support the flow of work orders through the Repair Service Center
  • Must have a strong mechanical aptitude, including the ability to read and work with diagrams and schematics.
  • Must meet the minimum qualifying requirements on the Repair Technician Test
  • Must meet performance standards within assigned tool group.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with WMS picking operation and process.


Physical Requirements**:
  • *Must be able to always (95% - 100%) lift and maneuver 10 pounds in any range of motion combination from ground/ankle height through above shoulder height for the 8-hour shift.
  • *Must be able to frequently (65% - 90%) lift and maneuver 15 pounds in any range of motion combination from ground/ankle height through above shoulder height for the 8-hour shift. *Must be able to often (35% - 60%) lift and maneuver 30 pounds in any range of motion combination from ground/ankle height through above shoulder height for the 8-hour shift.
  • *Must be able to occasionally (5% - 30%) lift and maneuver 50 pounds in any range of motion combination from ground/ankle height through above shoulder height for the 8-hour shift.
  • *Must be able to often (35% - 60%) walk and stand for the 8-hour shift.
  • *Must be able to climb and descend a flight of stairs for a minimum of 15 times per 8-hour shift.


Travel Requirements:
  • On-site critical position. Travel not required.
