Heat Treat Operator; 3rd Shift, 10:00pm-6:00am; Up to $19.95/hour
**Sign On Bonus - Retention Bonus - Shift Differential**

Position Summary

Under general supervisor and according to established policy and procedures, operates Heat Treat equipment and Chip Spinner, conducts quality checks and maintains records, performs simple maintenance and complies with all safety rules.

Essential Job Functions
  • Start up and shut down heat treat equipment (includes initial setting and adjusting of all controls and gauges)
  • Move work to charge end of furnaces
  • Load and unload work from furnaces
  • Check and adjust all controls and gauges
  • Inspection of completed parts (Rockwell), which includes keeping of records
  • Clean and maintain necessary gauges
  • Work in other departments on as needed basis, as directed by supervisor
  • Operates PIV as needed to move part bins, load machines
  • Maintain housekeeping standards
  • Must be able to work overtime
  • Any other duties as assigned by supervisor


Essential Skills & Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred


Competencies (5-10 Critical Areas of Understanding/Practice for the role)
  • Mathematical ability (add, subtract, multiply and divide), perform the four operations with common and decimal fractions
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to read and write, understand written, verbal or diagrammatic instruction


Physical Demands
  • Walking, standing, bending
  • Sitting
  • Use of hands, arms and fingers regularly
  • Lifting and carrying 5-35 pounds regularly
  • Climbing, pushing, pulling occasionally


Personal Protective Equipment
  • Hearing protection
  • Safety Glasses
  • Hard hat when using overhead crane
  • Gloves when handling steel and banding
  • Safety shoes - slip resistant and safety toe
  • Other additional PPE may be required when operating machinery or using chemicals.


Working Conditions

Inside working environment, on production floor; floor becomes slippery with oil. Noise levels on production floor require hearing protection, temperature fluctuates dependent on season. Working around powered industrial vehicles. Working with and around oil and chemicals.
