Minimum 1+ years occupational therapy experience required.
The school district we work with has a full-time, 2023-2024 schoolyear Occupational Therapist opening and wants someone who is experienced in pediatrics. You would be working with a K-8th grade caseload. Job Details:
  • Onsite location near the Binghamton, New York area
  • Start ASAP
  • 35guaranteed service hours per week
  • # students/sites and caseload information will be discussed more in depth with special services director during interview

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct evaluations to determine students' abilities and limitations in various functional areas.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluation results.
  • Implement evidence-based interventions to improve students' abilities to perform daily activities and participate in school-related tasks.
  • Provide ongoing assessment and monitoring of students' progress toward goals.
  • Collaborate with other members of the school team, including teachers, administrators, and parents, to ensure students receive comprehensive and coordinated services.
  • Provide education and training to school staff on strategies to support students' occupational therapy goals.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and billing.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current state license in New York
  • Experience working with school-aged children, including those with disabilities or special needs.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices in occupational therapy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
