Position Summary: The RN follows the specific facility job description, education/ qualifications, and responsibilities. The RN provides direct patient care services following established professional standards of care, in conjunction with Agency guidelines, State Practice Act, and the specific facility policies and procedures.

Essential Duties:

• Staffing: Although the Registered Nurse remains an employee of the Agency, when staffing at hospitals and nursing homes he/she functions according to the facility Registered Nurse job description. Any specialty area assignment (i.e. critical care, emergency room, psychiatric, pediatric) will require prior recent clinical experience in that specialty area).
• Charge: Facilities vary in their description of a charge position (e.g., number patient load, number of nurses working, number of stations needing coverage). If possible, the Registered Nurse will be informed by a coordinator prior to the assignment of he/she will be in a charge position.
• Industrial Nursing: Previous industrial or ER experience required
• Maintains a high degree of confidentiality at all times due to access to sensitive information
• Maintains regular, predictable, consistent attendance and is flexible to meet the needs of the department
• Follows all Medicare, Medicaid, and HIPAA regulations and requirements
• Abides by all regulations, policies, procedures and standards
• Performs other duties as assigned

Position Requirements & Competencies:

• Graduate of an approved School of Nursing
• Registered Nurse with a current state license to practice nursing
• Minimum of one (1) year recent clinical work experience in a medical/surgical unit of a hospital
• Satisfactory completion of a written RN Qualifying Exam in each area of clinical experience
• Current CPR certification
• Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills
