Located Washington, District of Columbia and/or Richmond, VA. Position DescriptionDevelop and execute strategies and best practices to drive effectiveness and efficiency in contract managementLead team of contract managers and support the team’s professional developmentSupport the evaluation of new business opportunities in coordination with sales, legal and other internal partnersPrimary responsibility for administration of key government contracts, including responding to and tracking inbound requests, basic review and contract interpretation, routing requests to team members for response, archiving and maintaining records of all work materialSupport contract negotiation and execution with customers and subcontractorsServe as a primary point-of-contact between McKesson and customers, subcontractors and vendors on government contract-related mattersMaintain contract records and ensure development/maintenance of contract management processes and proceduresOversight of contract sign-off from appropriate stakeholders and maintenance of version control on all iterations of contracts internally and with clientsMonitor contract life cycle including renewals, extensions, and close-outsProblem solving contract-related issues, including speaking with internal and external stakeholders to discuss business and compliance matters to ensure common understanding of contract language meaning and expectationsProvide redlined recommendations on contracts and address/negotiate client redlined comments on contracts in negotiationIdentify and analyze risk, determining the level of risk and required escalations appropriatelyCollaborate with business and corporate compliance teams on contract compliance monitoringTake a lead role in communicating and presenting information to stakeholders regarding contractsPromote the reputation and integrity of McKessonOther responsibilities and tasks to be assigned, as neededMinimum Requirements7+ years of experience as a Contract Manager with a government contractor supporting federal, state, and local government contracts3-5 years as a ManagerDeep understanding of the government contracting process, contract interpretation and governance Working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation and agency supplementsExperience with commercial item contracting required Experience with cost reimbursement contracting is a plus, but not requiredExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsSuperior reading, writing and language skillsExperience with customer relationship management applications (Salesforce)Critical SkillsSound professional judgment, logic and reasoningAttention to detail and penchant for accuracy, timeliness and organizationSuperior problem-solving skillsStrong verbal and written communication skillsProficient in Microsoft Office 365 (including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneDrive)Highly responsive to internal and external stakeholdersEfficient prioritization and management of multiple competing prioritiesA strong, pro-active work ethicThe ability to work effectively independently and collaboratively with a teamEducationBachelor’s degree from an accredited universityPhysicalGeneral office demands.Must be authorized to work in the US. Sponsorship is not available for this position.At McKesson, we care about the well-being of the patients and communities we serve, and that starts with caring for our people.
