Machine Maintenance Technician

POSITION TITLE:                 Machine Maintenance Technician

POSITION REPORTS TO:       Vice President, Engineering and Manufacturing

 POSITION SUMMARY:                   The essential job function is to conduct machine troubleshooting, repairs and preventive maintenance service.

 MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

1)    Install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.

2)    Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.

3)    Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.

4)    Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.

5)    Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.

6)    Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines.

7)    Use computer to research and purchase necessary supplies.

8)    Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.

9)    Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

10) Electrical troubleshooting of CNC equipment is a bonus.

11) Perform other duties as requested.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

·       High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience

·       5+ years of manufacturing maintenance experience; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, electrical/electronic and industrial skills with some PLC experience and HVAC

·       Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

1)   Lifting and Bending - Occasional bending and stooping.

2)   Hearing - Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication.

3)   Repetitive Motions – Some movements (motions) of the wrists, hands and/or fingers.

4)   Sitting – Maintaining body position by sitting at desk.

5)   Talking - Expressing or exchanging ideas through verbal means, including those activities in which one must convey detailed, spoken instructions to others accurately and/or quickly. 

6)   Visual – Requires vision sufficient to perform work dealing largely with preparing and analyzing data and figures, operating computer terminal, and reading.
