Job Description
Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment/systems by completing preventive maintenance requirements on conveyor systems and production machines, following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications
· Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
· Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain high speed bottling line equipment.
· Maintain electronic equipment maintenance records.
· Identify and report needed maintenance and repairs to Forman/Bottling Maintenance Supervisor.
· Additionally, assist in the training of apprentices.
· The Mechanic must be able to perform the following general maintenance tasks:
· PUMPS – The mechanic can trouble shoot and repair any malfunction on a stationary pump.
· Trouble shooting includes flow, electrical and mechanical.
· This pertains to vacuum, positive displacement, and centrifugal.
· ELECTRICAL – The mechanic can trouble shoot and repair any single phase, three phase motor or switches and photo-eyes, pull wire and set-up, install, and troubleshoot Videojet equipment.
· WELDING – The mechanic can perform basic welding skills and cutting skills.
· PLUMBING – Properly select materials, installation techniques and install piping for a wide variety of purposes to include air, water, process liquids, products etc.
· PNEUMATIC SYSTEMS – Trouble shoot and repair pneumatic systems to include basic solenoid maintenance,
· HYDRAULIC SYSTEMS – Trouble shoot and repair hydraulic systems. Perform preventive maintenance and assist with operational problems.
· MACHINING – Perform simple machining operations including drilling, tapping, broaching sprockets, grind, and polishing. All done to the proper specification.
· MATERIAL HANDLING – Performs material handling tasks including forklift operation.
