Role and Responsibilities:

  • Completes, oversees, and reviews accounting responsibilities, including completion of planning and wrap-up procedures
  • Responsible staff for A and B level clients and assists partners/managers with A and B level clients
  • Maintains and develops strong relationships with clients by meeting with client leaders and other stakeholders to understand their business and trends in their industry
  • Supervises, trains, and instructs staff and senior associates on engagements and ensures all deliverables are accurate and conclusions are documented properly
  • Oversees creation of engagement plans and approaches for team members and confirms all firm standards are met
  • Evaluates and adjusts engagement processes and approaches to ensure projects are completed accurately and efficiently
  • Supports department’s overall planning efforts including assignment of projects, creation of project budgets and development of department’s staffing plan
  • Monitors and reviews engagement realization reports and budgets for projects they oversee
  • Reviews client issues, evaluates solutions, determines recommended approach and communicates with clients and firm leaders
  • Performs and oversees technical research completed by team members and provides a summary of findings to engagement team and clients as needed
  • Focuses on professional and leadership development
  • Participates in hiring, on-boarding and training programs for department
  • Participates in business development activities on behalf of firm and participates with leaders to obtain new clients
  • Supports and participates in implementation of special projects to improve the department and firm

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in professional services role
  • CPA required
  • Advanced knowledge of GAAP and/or IRS regulations is required
  • Experience conducting complex technical research and drawing conclusions from research
  • Advanced knowledge of relevant computer applications including Microsoft Applications
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills is required
  • Problem analysis and problem-solving
  • Development of leadership skills is required
  • Experience managing engagement teams
  • Confidentiality and professionalism
