As a Swiss Applications Engineer you will use your technical skills to identify and provide diligent solutions for our diverse customer base. Leading turnkey projects, demonstrations, and other customer related projects to ensure they are completed on time and within budget. The Swiss Applications Engineer is the first line of support for our customer experience. The person filling this role is responsible for balancing multiple high-level technical tasks that surround the use and implementation of CAM software, CNC Machining of sophisticated parts, and working on multi–Axis CNC Machines. The Engineer will also work with pre-sales to assist on quotes for customers application. Being flexible to work on multiple task at one time.

Roles:

  • Strong hands-on machining background with experience as a Swiss-turn CNC machinist/programmer
  • Knowledge of Fanuc controls; Swiss 5-axis experience a plus
  • Proven working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and CAD/CAM software
  • Ability to work independently and as a teammate
  • Excellent customer service and effective interpersonal skills
  • Some overnight travel throughout our regional territory is required
  • Managing turnkey projects, demonstrations, and other customer related projects to ensure they are completed on time and within budget
  • Conducting pre-sale activities and reviews including customer visits, evaluation of opportunities, machine assessment and recommendations, part processing recommendations and development of turnkey proposals
  • Making accurate cost estimates, time studies, writing engineering reports, and interpreting plans and specifications
  • Developing/ implementing custom demonstrations and training customers in the safe set up and operation of Swiss CNC machining centers, Swiss style lathes and/ or multi-tasking machines
  • Possessing and maintaining an in-depth knowledge of machine tool industry and product lines represented by the company
  • Provide technical support to existing customers
  • Documentation for engineering systems

Qualifications:

  • A.S/B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or 10 years of related field service
  • 8-10 years validated experience as a Swiss CNC Programmer, Manufacturing Engineer, Applications Engineer, etc.
  • 8-10 years CAD/CAM Experience
  • Experience with CNC machining, part programming and knowledge of the manufacturing industry
  • Multi-functional team partnership
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills (word, excel, power point)
  • Pragmatic problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SolidWorks and Master CAM experience preferred, but any 3D CAD/CAM software experience is a plus
  • Intimate knowledge of modern tooling and work holding solutions
  • Expertise with various Machine Tool brands and commonly used controls (Fanuc)
