We are currently searching for an experienced Transportation Designer to support our Southwest Region located in Cottonwood Heights, UT.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Prepare quantities and develop PS&E packages supporting highway design projects
  • Prepare temporary traffic control plans and traffic management plan (TMP) as part of maintenance of traffic (MOT) activities
  • Prepare permanent signing and pavement marking plans
  • Prepare traffic signal design plans for new intersections and signal modifications to facilitate multimodal accommodations
  • Prepare streetlight design plan and perform photometric analysis using AGi32
  • Prepare Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) design plans
  • Assist in preparing conceptual intersection layouts, schematics, signal timings and engineering reports
  • Attend project meetings with clients as needed

What you need to have:

  • BS in Civil Engineering
  • 0 - 4 years of transportation engineering experience
  • Proficiency in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
  • Familiarity with DOT traffic design standards, MUTCD and AASHTO
  • Familiarity with traffic programs including Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS
  • Local state DOT experience is preferred
  • Self-starter and capable of completing tasks with minimal oversight
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written
