The HR Business Partner is a key leadership team member in our Chico, CA plant. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the HR Business partner is responsible for aligning our HR initiatives and functions with the business goals and objectives. The HR Business Partner acts as a conduit between corporate, leadership, and employees in performing the following duties: talent acquisition/recruitment, on-boarding/off-boarding, employee relations, talent management, organizational development, and other HR functions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Stay abreast of all local, city, state, and federal laws and regulations relating to HR
  • Work with HR and Plant Operations to ensure overall compliance. Recommend changes to policies and practices as needed to stay compliant.
  • Responsible for all recruiting efforts within the plant.
  • Coordinate with our payroll provider to ensure new hires are successfully on-boarded and terminating employees are successfully off-boarded.
  • Collaborate with HR team and Operations on on-boarding strategies and perform new hire orientation to deliver an exceptional onboarding experience.
  • Coordinate the off-boarding process to ensure a successful employee exit experience and conduct exit interviews. Analyze any relevant information gathered in the exit interviews and collaborate with the plant Manager on any challenges and solutions.
  • Partner with leadership to provide HR support and execution of all HR strategies.
  • Provide employee relations support and guidance to management on employee coaching, career development, disciplinary actions, and all employee relations.
  • Provide customer service to all employees relating to any HR inquiries such as on-boarding, off-boarding, benefits, payroll, recruiting, compensation, compliance, performance reviews, and any other HR related inquiries.
  • Successfully complete any necessary Employee Relations investigations and provide action recommendations in compliance with all applicable State and Federal laws.
  • Collaborate with Plant Operations and HR team to understand and improve employee engagement, and employee retention, and decrease any turnover challenges.
  • Collaborate with the HR team in analyzing, creating, and implementing HR strategies, initiatives, solutions, programs, policies and procedures.
  • Utilize current and create new HR tools and metrics to analyze, identify, and resolve any HR challenges.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • At least 4 years of HRBP/HR Generalist experience in a manufacturing, warehousing, logistics or similar working environment.
  • Ability to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders at all levels in the organization
  • Ability to partner, coach, and influence leaders/management to execute HR strategies and organizational effectiveness
  • Required Skills:

  • Stand, walk, sit at a desk, work on a computer, climb, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • This role will involve spending time on the plant floor with the employees, so the ability to stand for long periods is required.

The salary range for this position is between $75,000 and $85,000 base salary plus bonus and a competitive benefits package.
